The pair behind Hugo & Victor, Hugues Pouget and Sylvain Blanc, were OLD CHILDHOOD FRIENDS in the south of France.
Some years ago, they began to dream about a joint project: creating a business of their own which would make pastries worthy of GOURMET RESTAURANTS available for anyone. What could have been just one CRAZY IDEA amongst others began to crop up in their conversations with increasing frequency. With this project in mind, both of them decided to earn their spurs on their own before joining forces again in the future.
Hugues Pouget started his career in the South before joining some of the most prestigious GOURMET restaurants in the world like the Three star Guy Savoy restaurant. Meanwhile Sylvain Blanc graduated from the X-Mines school and joined the world leader in CHOCOLATE Barry Callebaut, developing the Cacao Barry brand in Europe. Back in Paris, Sylvain Blanc joined the senior management of the Printemps Department Stores, where he developed the ‘luxury and accessories’ department.
In 2010, still inspired by the same PASSION and strengthened by their mutual EXPERIENCES, Hugues Pouget and Sylvain Blanc joined back at long last and created Hugo & Victor.
